Asbestos and Libby

The Lincoln County Asbestos Resource Program is a public health program that was established in 2012 with the mission of reducing exposure to Libby amphibole asbestos that is found within the Libby Asbestos Superfund Site which includes Libby, Troy and surrounding areas. A key goal is to minimize burden on the community members themselves. The program was developed under the guidance of the City-County Board of Health for Lincoln County and is currently funded through a cooperative agreement/grant from the U.S. EPA.

Our three pillars represent the ARP's goals and mission. We provide information to educate the public regarding the risks associated with exposure to asbestos and how to reduce those risks. The ARP also participates in public outreach by attending community events with activities and informational booths.
